Ciel Solei cleared her throat: "I-I ...I should excuse myself, ...I have more pressing matters to attend to, and you have a match to compete in...."

She brushed her hair out of her face , and kept her eyes professionally on his. It proved however to be rather self defeating effort, for while she was avoiding thinking about his unquestionable physique...his eyes were just as imposing.

All the same , this only registered on a sub-richter level of interest, she was not, and never was that taken with...witless or dull jocks who waste both your time as well as theirs, and are as a rule, universally self absorbed.

However rather than coming back with an oafish pick up line, the tall green haired young man continued:"I just over heard you talking with the ginger...and you quoted something..."

She stopped in her tracks in walking past, and looked at him again waiting for him to get to the point.

Sage reached into his pocket and pulled out a copy of "Remnant's Ides", a book of fables and virtues from an old prophet, thought of to be the reincarnation of the Wizard himself who gave the original maidens their powers. Her eyes widened. That was no easy parcel to get ones hands on...unless you were obsessed or had the money for an original copy.

"Y-you own the Remnant's Ides?" Ciel said more in shocked statement rather than question.

Sage smiled, "Read every story, loved every story...did several papers on those back in Sage...particularly the Girl in the Tower, and the Tail of the Shallow Sea."

She blinked and cleared her throat. He looked this gorgeous AND was well read??? This...didn't make sense...none of her precaution measures for being indifferent were functioning. She looked quickly from side to side to find someone or some reason to excuse herself, but Penny was mysteriously no where in sight.

"Oh, that's not that popular of a work, you liked it enough to submit a paper on it?" Ciel retorted, it was all she could think to say.

Sage shrugged, "Can't imagine why it isn't, but it's probably my taste. And yes, it was worth it to turn in. It's not often i find a fellow fan in the huntsmen circles i'm in. Particularly back in Haven, it's just not the same."

Ciel straightened her skirt ends and asserted herself, "Well I do not know if I could call myself a fan, but I have also read all of his works, as well as a plethora of other literature...when I am not preoccupied with duties." she thought this would be a good segway to excuse herself from the conversation for just that reason.

Sage smiled, "Well seeing as how you like literature too, if your finished with your duty's in i'm guessing..." -he looked at the sun- 20 minutes to half an hour's time, being that that's when the match is over...you mind if we talk more about it over a drink or something. Unless you have something afterwards pressing."

Ciel's face burned and her eyes bulged. "No." she responded automatically. What was happening? She never had time for outings, much less with boys, that weren't scheduled, how did this...just happen?

"Great." Sage said, "I'll see you afterward....?" he paused for a minute, and she legitimately stared at him the whole time.

".....You usually say your name at this part..." Sage cued her. She blinked and snapped out of her...stupor? "Ciel." she said, "Designation Ciel Soleil."

Sage chuckled...for some reason. "Sage, Sage Ayana. Heh, designation...okay."

Didn't all students address their given names that way?

Before she could again attempt to close the conversation, her hand was taken and...kissed before she could do anything about it and she froze in her tracks.

"See you after, Ciel." he smirked and ran out to the tunnel.

.

She just remained in upright position, hand outstretched, and shocked/disarmed look on her face.

Ruby giggled, Penny did too from around the corner they were spying from.

"We are laughing." Penny said affirmatively in a hushed voice. This made Ruby giggle all the more.

"Why are we laughing?" Penny asked after.

.

"Because!" Ruby said, straining very hard not to burst, "Your friend's going on a date!"

Penny nodded "Oooooooh."
